The City
The city is, for the most part, safe from the horrors of the DNA-altering drugs, and it is where many of the characters choose to spend their free time because of all the things to do there and the large population of people. Because of this large population, however, if the Fent Demons were to reach the city and start attacking the people there, things would quickly get out of hand and turn from bad to even worse. That is why Jordan and his friends make sure that whenever they are there, they are on high alert in case they make any sightings of these monsters.
Southside
South of the city is your average suburban area, and it is where Jordan has lived his whole life. It is also where his conflict with his supernatural new enemies takes place, as it is quieter and more secluded, so they are freer to roam the woods and the quiet streets. Even though it makes for a smaller population of people in danger due to the Fent Demons being confined to a smaller area, it also means that for someone there, it is much more dangerous, as they are much more likely to encounter the horrors of the DNA-altering strain for themselves.
